OnBehalf.org is one of literally thousands of military nonprofits across the United States.  So why choose us?  Take a look at what a few of our folks are saying:

Lauren Boccelli, OnBehalf Ambassador (Massachusetts)

Lauren isn’t your average Boston-based model.  Creator and host of her own online radio show, Maxim Magazine Hometown Hotties Finalist 2010, and Playboy Girls of Golf Boston winner 2011, Lauren makes time to help our wounded guys and gals from Iraq & Afghanistan.  Lauren was a huge help during our fundraiser in June near Boston, rolling up her sleeves (well, she actually wore a tank top) and selling hundreds of raffle tickets.  “The heart and dedication OnBehalf.org puts forth to helping our veterans is unsurpassable.  A great organization to work with.”   Thank you, Lauren!  Click here to register as an Ambassador with OnBehalf.

Travis F., Grant Recipient (Georgia)

Travis is no stranger to the treacherous roads of Al Anbar Province, Iraq.  Serving with the US Army National Guard (ARNG) and attached to the 3rd Infantry Division, Travis’s vehicle was hit by an improvised explosive device (IED) while on a routine patrol in 2009.  “That’s pretty much all I remember” he says.  Travis was more than a little banged up from the blast, but with some help from OnBehalf contributors, we’ve made the transition from Soldier to civilian a bit easier.  “Thank you very much and may GOD bless you all for what you do.”  Thank you for your service, Travis.  Click here to help wounded vets like Travis.

Bob R., Grateful Nation Network contributor (Illinois)

Bob (left, with Network service recipient Dustin B.) was one of our first contributors to the Grateful Nation Network.  And oh, what a contribution it was.  “I’m a hunting guide with a private farm in Illinois, and I’d like to sponsor a week-long hunt” he wrote in his first email.  We had no problems finding a veteran for this expedition.  Along with our partners at Chris Neal Farm (aka Camp Hope in Farmington, MO), we located Dustin, an injured trooper from the St. Louis, MO area who was wounded while serving with the 10th Mountain Division (US Army) in Afghanistan.  Dustin and Bob didn’t bag the big buck they’d hoped for, but had a great time in the peaceful fields of western Illinois.  “OnBehalf was diligent in helping me find a vet,” writes Bob.  “Thanks to your organization who go that extra mile, in helping and looking after our vets when they return. What a powerful way to say thanks.”  Click here to register a professional service with the Grateful Nation Network.

Chris K., Grant Recipient (Maine)

Chris and his story were the driving force behind the founding of OnBehalf.org.  A gunner with our own New Hampshire-based 94th Military Police Company (94 MP CO),  Chris and his squad were in the middle of their night patrol of a dangerous stretch of highway in Ramadi, Iraq, in late 2003.  The IED exploded less than 10 yards away from his humvee.  “I didn’t hear the boom…I just remember seeing yellow sparks shoot up.”  Even with shrapnel in his neck and a wound to his arm, Chris managed to man his weapon, firing rounds in the direction of the ambush until nearly losing consciousness.  Even though Chris literally died twice that night in Iraq, he proved you can’t keep a good man down—married with two kids and living life to the fullest, he’s a role model for our generation.  Unfortunately, as with many wounded vets, the military doesn’t always live up to its promises with financial support, and the medical system in place for our war wounded is horribly antiquated.   Your contributions helped Chris and his family through a couple of tough months where the military failed him, and for that, we’re all thankful.  “OnBehalf is one of the most troop-oriented nonprofits out there,” says Chris.  Thank you, Chris, for your service to this great nation.  Click here to help our vets who were injured in combat.
